THE WINNETKA PUBLIC SCHOOLS DISTRICT 36
Greeley Elementary School
WINNETKA, ILLINOIS
Demolition, expansion, and renovation working in perfect sequence.
The dual-phase renovation at Greeley School showcases exceptional construction coordination, transforming the building into a more functional, accessible, and welcoming learning environment.
Phase I removed an outdated section of the school to make way for a new classroom wing featuring a Learning Resource Center, two classrooms, restrooms, a computer lab, and a cafeteria. The addition also improved circulation and ADA accessibility with the installation of an elevator that completed the building’s circulation loop.
Phase II reoriented the school’s main entrance to a more strategic corner, guiding visitors past a secure entry point with a view of the courtyard. Administrative offices were relocated adjacent to the new entry, streamlining visitor interactions while keeping academic areas secure.
