The Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Chicago retained Prosi Design Inc. to design a new retreat center on its property in Brighton, Wisconsin.

The retreat center includes a 24,000-square-foot, multi-story lodge featuring 26 sleeping rooms, a two-and-one-half-story great room with heavy timber trusses, and a full-service kitchen and dining area. The site also includes two bunk-style cottage buildings that provide more rustic accommodations.

A walking path winds through the existing wooded area, where visitors encounter a series of prayer shrines intended to create a peaceful setting for prayer and reflection. The walking path and shrines were inspired by the ancient footpaths of Holy Mount Athos in Greece.

Athletic fields and a playground are currently under construction on the site.
