Turning disaster into a fresh start.

In April 2013, disaster struck Marseilles Elementary School District 150 when runaway river barges damaged the town’s dam and levies, flooding more than 200 homes and inundating the school’s basement and first floor.

 

GreenAssociates was on site the morning the waters began to recede. Working side-by-side with district leadership, we developed and executed a plan to assess damage, coordinate contractors, and implement remediation measures.

Through an intense summer and fall construction effort, the school reopened to students by the third week of January 2014—transforming a crisis into a renewed learning environment.
