Carole Donovan Pugh, AIA, LEED AP, NCARB, Principal
Carole has focused on educational design in her career and has been instrumental in GreenAssociates’ growth since 1985. Registered in Illinois and Wisconsin, she received her Bachelor of Architecture, High Honors, from the University of Tennessee. She has her National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) Certification, is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), and a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Accredited Professional. Carole is involved with the Illinois Association of School Business Officials (IASBO) as well as the Council of Educational Facility Planners, International (CEFPI). Carole has in-depth knowledge of long range facility planning and the optimal learning environments for primary and secondary students. With clients in Cook, Lake and DuPage Counties, Carole is adept at working with district leadership and neighborhood community groups when developing solutions for her clients. A consummate sailor, Carole, her husband Jim and three children are often on Lake Michigan and have sailed the east coast and the Caribbean as well.

A graduate of Southern Illinois University, George has spent his career working exclusively with Pre-K thru 12 educational clients. He is licensed in Illinois, Wisconsin and Iowa and holds Council Certification from the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB). He is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), Council of Education Facility Planners International (CEFPI) and the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI). In addition he is active as a service associate in the Illinois and Wisconsin Association of School Business Officials (ASBO), the Illinois and Wisconsin Association of School Administrators (AASA) and the Illinois Association of School Boards (IASB). George represents the American Institute of Architects as a delegate to the State of Illinois Capital Development Board (CDB) Industry Advisory Committee. He has worked for over 40 school districts and completed more than 500 projects. His latest – the new Central Intermediate School in Ottawa, Illinois – was a replacement building for a school flooded in the fall of 2008. George worked closely with the IEMA, FEMA and the CDB in securing funding for the replacement school. Originally from Dixon, Illinois, George now lives with his wife Jill in one of Chicago’s north shore communities. Their son works in downtown Chicago and their daughter in Los Angeles.

Bill is a licensed having received his Bachelor of Architecture in Design from the University of Illinois, Chicago. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), and the Construction Specification Institute (CSI). Bill is a senior project architect with the firm; assigning team members, coordinating with consultants and communicating with clients throughout design and construction. Bill takes pride in having his projects completed on time and within budget. When he’s not busy cheering his Chicago Blackhawks to another Stanley Cup championship, Bill, a lifetime hockey enthusiast, puts on his pads and skates year round at his local park district rink. During college, Bill participated in the University’s year-long study abroad program in Versailles France, where he had the opportunity to travel extensively. While studying French and European architecture, he met his Swedish born wife Maria. Together they have two daughters.

Stephen M. Chassee, Associate Principal and Director of Business Development
Before joining Green, Mr. Chassee served honorably for 8 years in the United States Marine Corps, and is a Veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom II-2. For the past 15 years he has been an active member of the Illinois Association of School Business Officials (IASBO), and in 2013 was elected to serve as the Chair for the IASBO Service Associate Advisory Committee (SAAC). In addition to IASBO, Steve is also an active member in Illinois Association of School Boards (IASB), as well as the Suburban School Superintendents Association (SSSA). His expertise in school safety and security has helped numerous Districts prepare pragmatic Safety and Security plans, and he brings that knowledge with him to Green and all of our clients. When he is not working, you will most likely find him outdoors with his two young kids, fishing, hiking, camping or he’s somewhere on or under the water.
