WESTBROOK SCHOOL Mount Prospect School District 57
Faced with growing enrollment at their two elementary schools, the Mount Prospect School District 57 School Board decided to reopen Westbrook School in 2006. Phase I of the renovations, included classrooms for the Pre-K program and six kindergarten classrooms. Upgrades included new cabinetry, lighting, flooring and wall finishes. Phase I also included the expansion and renovation of the Learning Center.	The building’s theme of “a garden where children grow” was expanded into a nature themed mural and woodland motif featuring a story area, reading loft, book collection for early learners and flexible platforms. Phase II improvements included a new entrance, relocation of administrative offices, renovation of the heating and cooling system, lighting, parking lots and window replacement.
